Cards made with Scraps Challenge
Every week there is a scrap card challenge in one of the Facebook Card groups I belong to. The name of the group is Drop of Inspiration, and it is run by Marta Dębicka, or Drop of Sunshine, as she calls herself. For each challenge she makes a short video in which she draws two colors and a style/technique, which lays the foundation for the challenge. She also posts a video where she shows her own cards using same said colored scraps and technique.
I have far from participated every week, but I just wanted to post my makes so far.
This week the challenge was just to use red and gold. I made two cards, both 6"x6" and both with paper flowers.
Last week the challenge was to use pink and brown, as well as inksprays. I loved this challenge, as I really like pink and brown together, and I have a ton of inksprays that I hardly use.
The card above is made for the gold and silver scrap strips challenge.
This is the card I made for the monochrome black and grey challenge, using either strips, or texture pastes. Since last week was all about strips, I went for the texture pastes for this one. And I added a red heart for a splash of color.
The color for this challenge was white, and the technique was irisfolding. As I had never done irisfolding before, I considered skipping this one, but then I thought; "why not give it a go?". I looked up irisfolding, and found several patterns that I could try, but ended up deciding on a ghost, mainly because I could make it in the challenge color, white.
This last card called for pinks/purples, black/grey and punches. I don´t have a whole lot of punches, however, I do have some flowers and butterflies. Here I went with a butterfly punch, and created a wreath of butterflies in all the colors of the challenge.
This type of challenge is a good way of using up some of the scraps you have, and at the same time expanding the way you think about what type of card to use a given technique on. And once in a while you even learn something new.
